Featured in the Spring Parade of Homes 2017, the Americana looks like it stepped right off a wheat farm in the 1900s but it was actually custom built-in OklaHome’s Autumn Farms boutique modern farmhouse community. Rob Allen, Home Designer started with the homeowner’s top request: a sink over the kitchen window and then designed the home around that requirement. This floorplan offers efficient use of space with a Planning Center tucked down the hall from the kitchen with a sliding barn door, built-in desk and tiny picture window for natural light. Upstairs the kids each have their own room plus a large playroom. The couple moved from a historic originally built in the 1920s and one special feature they wanted to try to duplicate was the wood-burning fireplace so the “real thing” was a must-have as well. Lastly, other special touches include ornate glass doorknobs ordered online from Look in the Attic custom hardware and a family heirloom dresser repurposed into a powder bathroom vanity. This home could tell some stories for sure!
