You’ll work directly with our in-house architectural designer to create your home from the ground up, collaborate with our interior designer to curate your personal style through local shopping, and even meet with the craftsmen building your home to share your ideas and inspiration firsthand.

Planning Your Home

From the moment you connect with OklaHome, we’re dedicated to bringing you one step closer to your dream home. Your journey begins with a meeting to discuss the perfect location, style, size, and budget. Next, you’ll collaborate with our architectural designer to turn your vision into a custom plan. One of the most exciting milestones will be your first virtual “tour, where you’ll see your future home come to life through immersive 3D technology.

Finance Meeting

We work with trusted lenders to help you secure the best financing options, ensuring a smooth start to your homebuilding journey. This crucial step helps clarify your budget and financial needs. Our OklaHome real estate team will also assist with the logistics, timing your transition seamlessly from your current home to your new one.

Pre-Construction Meeting

Once your contract and financing are finalized, we hit the ground running with a pre-construction meeting. While we handle the plans and permits, you’ll meet with our interior designer and construction manager to begin making your first set of key decisions. To ensure you feel prepared, we’ll provide a list of questions and selections to consider before your meeting.

Groundbreaking

Your construction manager will meet you at the homesite to choose the perfect location for your home. They’ll coordinate the team to prepare the site, pour the foundation, install rough plumbing, and begin framing.

Throughout the process, we’ll discuss important factors like drainage, tree preservation, weather, and utilities to ensure everything is set for a smooth build.

Masonry Meeting

You’ll collaborate with our interior designer to select the perfect brick, siding, and stone, shaping the exterior look and feel of your home.
This is where the vision for your home exterior truly comes to life.

Plumbing Meeting

Many homeowners (let’s be honest, especially the women) often envision their perfect clawfoot or sleek modern tub right from the start. Now’s your chance to bring that dream to life, along with selecting faucets, showerheads, and all of your plumbing fixtures.

Electrical Meeting

This exciting meeting takes place at your new home once the walls are framed but before insulation goes in. Alongside your interior designer and our electrician, you’ll decide the placement of can lights, fixtures, outlets, and switches. Don’t worry — we’ll provide plenty of suggestions and expert advice to guide you through the process.

Tile, Flooring and Paint

Get ready to bring your Pinterest board to life. In this phase, you’ll dive into selecting the perfect backsplash, flooring, and tub surround tiles. You’ll also choose between hardwood, engineered wood, tile, or carpet, and pick the ideal paint colors. Don’t worry—you’ll have plenty of time to explore options and make sure every detail is just right.

Trim and Cabinet Craftsmanship

Keep your Pinterest board handy! Next, you’ll meet at your home with our skilled cabinet antrim craftsmen to design custom cabinetry, beams, baseboards, and trim. Every cabinet is built on-site, tailored to your exact vision. Bring along any printed inspiration photos to help convey your ideas. Countertop and Sink Selection

This is one of our favorite steps! Your choice of countertops and sinks will set the tone and style of your entire home. You’ll have the opportunity to personally select each piece at the manufacturer’s showroom, with options ranging from granite to quartz, and farm sinks to trough
sinks—the possibilities are endless.

Lighting Selection

It’s time to put the icing on the cake! You’ve probably already started dreaming about this step. Our professional designers will guide you through the process, beginning with a lighting plan that maps out exactly how many fixtures you’ll need and where they’ll go. Have fun, get creative—you’ll never regret investing in a stunning light fixture!

Hardware Selection

The true quality of your home shines through in the details. These special touches add that extra bit of sparkle. Whether you’re drawn to Craftsman, crystal, industrial, or dainty styles, now’s the time to get creative and mix things up for a unique, personalized finish!

Final Walkthrough

As construction wraps up, it’s all about the details. Your final meeting will be a walkthrough with your construction manager, introducing you to your new home. We’ll cover any punch-list items, maintenance tips, and operating instructions to ensure you’re comfortable. Meanwhile, your New Home Consultant will coordinate with your lender and title company to schedule the closing. This can be a hectic time as you pack, hire movers, and set up utilities, but we’re here to help! Our “May We Suggest” list includes trusted partners for moving, professional organizing, and cleaning services to make your transition as smooth as possible.

Closing

Congratulations, your dream home is now officially yours! At closing, you’ll receive your keys, garage door openers, and warranty manuals.
