Living Well at Carlton Landing

If you haven’t visited the Carlton Landing community at Lake Eufala, you haven’t lived. Or perhaps I should say you haven’t lived well. Their motto is “The essence of a life well lived.”
Carlton Landing is a small master planned community, now a township, started by the Humphreys family and designed by the same urban planners responsible for Seaside and Rosemary Beach, Florida. Carlton Landing is more than a community – it is a vision, a story, a feeling of an tranquil getaway for families to retreat from the stressful hubbub of city life to a simpler way of living.
Carlton Landing is two hours away from Oklahoma City and an hour and a half away from Tulsa at Lake Eufala. The community is comprised of idyllic, historically-inspired homes, the majority of which are weekend homes used by families to relax and reconnect as often as they can. The rest of the homeowners live there permanently whether having retired or moved their families permanently to embrace a simpler lifestyle. As a matter of fact, the community has its own school where children can walk to from home. Across the street is the community garden and an area where the children can help raise the community farm animals.
This weekend our OklaHome team had the pleasure of once again visiting Carlton Landing for their annual holiday open house tour. It is seriously one of my favorite events of the entire year! I always walk away with about a million photos on my phone and a trillion new creative ideas in my brain.
The homes are quintessential modern farmhouses; from shiplap siding, to corrugated steel roofs, to the light, bright white kitchens, hardwood floors, and screened-in porches, they have it all!
This year we brought two of our newest agents to experience the Carlton Landing lifestyle and to understand what the modern farmhouse style means to us. Here are a couple of photos from our trip.
